Culture and Recreation

Culture abounds in the communities of Logan County at the libraries, museums, a local coffee house, theatre and several community events, such as the annual Logan County Fair and summer concerts on the Court House lawn.  Each Year, the Logan County Area Arts Council presents an impressive array of art exhibits, concerts, and productions.  Local cuisine and shopping are quite varied, and an occasional trip to nearby Denver or Fort Collins presents an interesting change of pace. 

Logan County prides itself on its many and well maintained parks, two 18 holes golf courses, recreation programs, and its beautiful state park – North Sterling Reservoir.  There is something that appeals to every generation, from a skateboard park to the gorgeous trails of Pioneer Park to boating, fishing and hunting at the North Sterling Reservoir.  

Opportunities for outdoor recreation are plentiful in Logan County and Northeastern Colorado.  Fisherman might experience some of the best Bass, Bluegill, Catfish, Crappie, Perch, Tiger, Walleye, and Wipers fishing around.  Some of the finest hunting in North America is found in the area including, pheasant, turkey, grouse, quail, geese, duck, deer and antelope.  Former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway is an annual hunter and can be spotted in the local spots in Crook every year.
