Logan County, located in the northeast Colorado, is a diversified agriculture, industrial and service based community. Sterling, which is the largest city and county seat, is located 125 miles from Denver, 90 minutes from DIA, and 40 minutes from I-80. Our majestic mountains are a 2 hour drive west.
Sterling is the commercial hub for approximately 60,000 people who shop, eat, attend cultural and sporting events, and utilize services from our growing list of financial and health care providers. Interstate 76 and State Highway 6, 61, and 138 connect Sterling to the surrounding areas. The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway and Union Pacific provide primary rail access and have operations in Sterling. Sterling Municipal Airport provides general aviation services.
With over 600 businesses located in the County, dozens of commercial construction projects are in-process. According to NerdWallet’s 2015 announcement, Sterling ranks #18 in best places in Colorado to start a business. The growing economy has resulted in new construction, job creation and service opportunities. All of this is a direct reflection on our centralized location, the strength and depth of our workforce combined with supporting infrastructure , professional services and supporting industries.
Logan County joins only three other Colorado counties that have been approved in 2016 for the Rural Jump-Start program which offers tax relief for qualified companies and their new hires.
